In 1985 the successful development of the STORM series engine constituted a turning point in our business. We have steadily expanded our operations on the foundations of advancements in technology and combined expertise, continuous investment in R&D, and the experience that comes with the development of over 1,000 different applications. We produce 34 conventional models of diesel engines (from 24 to 1000 hp) with our state-of-the-art automated assembly lines operated under our extensive quality control system. Currently, more than 250 different types of equipment are equipped with Doosan Infracore engines.
We are actively in engaged in developing new, environmentally friendly technologies to fit various applications. In 1999, we developed ultra-low-pollution CNG (compressed natural gas) engines used in buses in Korea among other countries. And recently, we have successfully developed a LPNG (low-pressure natural gas) engine to be used in industrial equipment.
In our Materials sector, we deliver major component castings of engines such as cylinder blocks and heads, high-tech materials like aircraft brake discs, and core castings of hydraulic valves for excavators.
To effectively address changes in environmental and safety regulations, we are continually striving to make advancements in technology and improvements to our products that will make them safer and cleaner.
